leviathan -- the Devouring economy

Primordial flesh-monsters sealed hardest in Purgatory. Black-goo true form, feast on corpses or living prey, steal faces, crush in a fight.
Learn Devouring. You share the supernatural fuel tank (help fuel).
Not a Celestial Demon (vessel-walker) and not Cosmic Eldritch flesh-demons.

How you play
  1. form black-goo true form (needed for living consumes / ooze)
  2. consume corpse feast anytime; living = attack chew, or finisher swing at ≤35% HP (bare consume keeps current foe)
  3. devouring status: fuel, stolen face, Mastery gates (help devouring)
  4. ooze Purgatory only -- inject black oil into an Angel/Demon (they explode into sludge)
  5. assume wear the last stolen face (Adept+)
  6. shed drop the disguise
  7. crush Expert+ combat hammer
  8. breach Master+ Bone Gate + seal key (rare Purgatory exit)

Top stats lean POW / VIT / FIN.

Seal key (bone-white)
One canonical key circulates the Nest -- never two. When it is wandering, spotting it on a pit floor is vanishingly rare (most descents see nothing).
Echoes who held it too long lose it to ash after three real days offline; logging in pauses that clock. Steal it from a carrier if you can. Staff:
  gm sealkey status.
Craft backup: ultra-rare pit kills may drop three splinters (ward, bone, ash).
At the Bone Gate, mendkey knits them into a fraying one-use key (breach still consumes it on success). Canonical keys stay reusable.

You do not need town meals, sleep, or gym training. Every successful consume restores weariness / loneliness / hygiene, floods stamina, banks train-sized primary gains (POW/FIN/VIT), and refills fuel. Chews and corpse sips do not bank Growth; finishing a kill (whole feast) still does. Hunger and thirst on needs follow that fuel tank -- mortal food does nothing. Hunt, feast, grow. Leviathans default to fearless unless a cast stamp says otherwise (help personality / help needs).

Purgatory territory
The ash plane is yours. Cadence Leviathans (and spawned Nest hunters) chase anything that walks in that is not staff, Reaper, God, or fellow
Leviathan. Fantasy: beat them down, then finish into nothingness.
Mortals and monsters get consumed like feral beasts. Ordinary Angels and Demons get black ooze when standing allows -- same ≤+1 Character
Trash erases into ash; players, Echoes, townsfolk, and immersion cast are rewritten by the Author to their origin home (Black Nest for Leviathans; mausoleum crypt for Vampire and Ghoul; Kansas wolf pack den for Shifter; cold larder for Wendigo; haunt bind for Ghost; Misty Veil for Djinn; Oakhaven mill approach for Arachne; Heaven / Hell for Mantles). Tier-4 Fallen Archangels and Archangels shrug that finish -- fight them another way.

When an NPC Leviathan dies on Purgatory, the vessel melts into black ooze and a Leviathan Blossom may push through the ash (help blossom).
Player monster souls: while newbie-protected, a lethal finish is Chuck-rewritten to origin home; after protection ends, Purgatory true death sends you to The Empty (help empty) unless a Reaper or Cosmic voidpulls you free (help voidpull).

  Ashen Marches hunt
Wilderness and nest hostiles that die on Earth wake as living flesh on the Ashen Marches (desperate, fleeing home). Hunt and consume them before the escape clock sends them back to the living world. A lethal kill on Ashen prey (or any spawn already on Purgatory) auto-consumes them -- full feast rewards, no need to type consume after. Consuming a spawned nest/wilderness NPC whole removes them for good (clutter valve -- players and Echoes are never deleted this way).

Purgatory holds you tighter than other natures -- no Ledger release, no Fog-Reaper ride. Only breach (or staff) frees a bound Leviathan
(help purgatory).
