hunting -- stalk, shoot, trap, and butcher game Hunting is a Survival profession (help professions). Distinct from mission takehunt. Skinning is not a plains node -- skin a carcass or an unburied body for hide (help gathering). How you play 1. track game on overland wilds -- sign here, or a bearing toward forest/plains 2. stalk [bow|gun] in forest/plains wilds or homestead blind (gate open) 3. snare slower trap hunt (same as stalk trap) 4. butcher dress meat and organs from a carcass or body 5. skin peel leather from that carcass or body (Skinning) 6. cook stew with meat or heart trail meals (help cooking) A clean stalk or snare leaves hide you can skin. A sloppy gunshot (and a very thin bow shot) ruins the pelt -- meat still dresses. A charging miss bolts with nothing. Forest and plains sometimes hold wildlife [TRAIL] sign even before you stalk. Late night, fog, or evil World Tide can roll spooky quarry (not everyday lunch). See also: help fishing | help cooking | help gathering | help homestead
