mining -- wilderness mouths, shared drifts, smelt and forge Earth wilderness only in v1 (mountains / desert / hills macros). Other realms already have stratum tables reserved for later — no working mouth there yet. How you play 1. Stand on a wilderness cell and prospect (or just notice a marker on a plain look) 2. mine surface shallow ore nodes (help gathering — unchanged) 3. mine down drop into the shared mouth or a company's old adit 4. hang lantern light the dark chamber; mine east carves a new face (a shared channel — anyone nearby can pitch in) 5. shore east timber brace the new face once six rooms are carved, or the dig refuses to go further 6. mine harvest the vein once the room is cleared 7. survey see every carved room for this mouth (this mouth only) 8. hang gate east; lock gate east / unlock gate east for a little privacy pick / force / bypass all still work on a hung gate — it slows people down, it doesn't stop them 9. Install a smelter, then smelt <ore> into ingots, alloy <recipe> for bronze/steel/infused bars, and forge <type> with <ingot> at that station or a town foundry (Lebanon: Highway West Mile Marker 8, south -- County Refinery Yard; help smithing) 10. Deep and shored enough, a chamber starts to look like a homestead worksite — a future tier, not day one See also: help gathering | help homestead | help craft | help smithing
