hellhound -- Hell's dogs

How you play
  1. See the hound -- kennel dogs are visible; Deal pack needs glasses or celestial sight (help hellhound glasses)
  2. Wield an angel blade, demon-killing knife, or The Colt -- ordinary steel and lead pass through, even if the kill kit is in your other hand
  3. Contain a Deal hound -- goofer here, salt here, or Hellcraft circle while the hound is in the room (help traps)
  4. leash (or leash <hound-name> when several share the room) -- Deal pack only
  5. Fight with your normal target -- a leashed hound is untargetable and hits only your target
  6. releasehound when you are done (timer, barrier loss, or your fall also breaks the leash)

Hellhounds are not Demons. They are Hell's hunting dogs. Ordinary steel, fists, and lead pass through -- you need an angel blade, a demon-killing knife, or The Colt.

Kennel hounds (Lloyd's Crossroads, Stull's Alpha) stand visible in the room. You can lock the fight. Lasting harm still needs the kill kit.

Deal-pack hounds (past-due soul lien) are true-invisible. Celestials and Hellhound-Seeing Glasses pierce; without sight even the right steel is a ~5% guess (help deal | help hellhound glasses).

With pierce sight and a barrier in the room, an Occultist (Adept+ Hellcraft) or a Demon can briefly steal command of one Deal hound -- not a permanent pet. The lien stays live; Hell may send another dog.

Occultist: 12 stamina, about 5 real minutes. Demon: 6 stamina, about 10 real minutes. Not Hellcraft bind (that is for Demons and possessed hosts -- help bind).
