Player street shops — open a storefront on commercial streets. How you play 1. Stand on an outdoor Main Street / highway curb (not a home porch). 2. shop buy deed — at city hall or a player-town mayor office, then shop open The Mcdonalds — optional type: shop open Joe's Diner diner 3. look — see the fixture with its frontage (e.g. northeast frontage); enter mcdonalds — step inside; exit — street 4. shop status — list shops you own; shop close — pull down your fixture 5. shop facing ne — optional owner override for look text (n/ne/e/se/s/ sw/w/nw or clear); new shops pick a diagonal frontage at install when possible so Main Street can still grow north/east/south/west 6. bash laundry — or bash east — strike a storefront wall by name or compass direction (front vs side); combat throws may use the same target Player street shops — open a storefront on commercial streets. -- more How you play (continued) 7. shop order bread 10 — wholesale-order stock into your shelves from inside the shop, or shop order <alias> bread 10 from anywhere (phone it in). What's orderable depends on the shop type — your amenity type is a subscription to the same standard catalog civic NPC shops use (items tagged shop_amenities in the item catalog). You still pay wholesale and must stock the shelf; civic shops auto-fill at boot. 8. work while standing in your shop to clock in and tend the counter — wares / list / buy now work there like any town shop (help work) 9. shop advertise <text> — buy about thirty seconds on Channel 7 while on duty or in your own storefront ($25 from wallet cash) Types in alpha include retail, grocery, diner, bar, gym, theatre, apothecary, and more. Clinics and garages stay reserved for town sites. Civic botanicas use the apothecary type (help botanica | help townshops). Damage, insurance, and repair (P3) A fight on the street outside your shop can rarely slam a combatant into the fixture's front wall, chipping its HP; a tornado overhead does the same, harder. shop status shows HP / WRECKED / insured. At 0 HP the shop is wrecked (scorched look, boarded up, enter stops working) but the building and its pocket are never deleted — repair reopens the same rooms. shop insure [alias] — enroll in city insurance: an immediate first premium, then billed monthly alongside town rent. Miss two months and coverage lapses (shop insure again to re-enroll). shop repair [alias] — insured: files a claim; a crew finishes the job in a few in-game hours and the shop reopens on its own. Uninsured: an out-of-pocket lump sum (scaled to HP missing), applied immediately — a shop is never permanently bricked just for skipping coverage. A hit that wrecks a fixture can also breach the person who broke it straight through the front wall into the shop's own pocket (bruised, not teleported anywhere unrelated); exit still works normally from there once you're inside.
