mudlet -- official Mortals and Monsters Mudlet package (HUD) Installs a framed side panel plus a chat bar, all fed by the same live data as the browser client. How you play 1. First install: connect and log in, then type mpkg download -- Mudlet pulls the package and installs it. (Or in Mudlet: Package Manager, Install Package, pick MortalsAndMonsters, or grab it from play.riftforge.me.) 2. Connect to the live game and log in -- the panel fills in on its own 3. Click a compass arrow to walk, or type as normal 4. atlas -- redraw the camera in the main log too (mmgui or rfmap redraw the dock) 5. mmmap -- open the interior map (F11); it fills in as you walk, and never walks for you 6. mmgag on -- hide OOC / tells / local from the main window (they stay in the chat dock); mmgag off restores them 7. OOC lines in the main window paint bright aqua (same color as in-game). Disable the Mortals OOC color trigger if you use config channel ooc for a different color Screenreader: config screenreader on hides the whole HUD so your reader is not cluttered. How you play 1. Read help mudlet for the verb card 2. This page is extra detail for that loop The panel shows - Your name, Origin, Path, tier, and current form - Gauges: Lifeforce, Stamina, Energy, Momentum, and Fuel or Mana when you have them - Cash (and Bank when you carry one) - A clickable compass -- available exits light up gold; click one to walk it - The atlas camera (same rectangle as the atlas command), which follows you overland - A built-in interior map (Mudlet's F11 map) for towns and dungeons -- rooms, exits, and floors fill in as you walk - A chat bar at the bottom with All / OOC / Tells / Local tabs (click to switch), each line timestamped. The OOC tab uses the same bright aqua as the main-window trigger. Updates: install once (mpkg download, or grab it from play.riftforge.me). After that Mudlet auto-updates the package whenever we ship a new version -- you never reinstall by hand. mpkg download also force-pulls the latest if you ever need it. Your on/off and gag choices live outside the package, so updates never wipe them. The package trigger Mortals OOC color recolors ((OOC)) lines in the main window to bright aqua. That matches the server default. If you set config channel ooc gold (or another role), disable that trigger in Mudlet's Trigger Editor so the server color can show. Screenreader: with config screenreader on, the whole HUD stays hidden so your reader is not cluttered. Use atlas for spoken coordinates. mmgui and rfmap do the same refresh (rfmap is the older name). mmdebug prints what GMCP the game is sending, for troubleshooting.
