men of letters -- Human Background (Men of Letters scholars)

The Order chronicled the supernatural for centuries before a Hunter ever kept a journal, and for most of that history looked down on field Hunters as blunt instruments who broke what a Legacy would rather have studied. On the path menu. You stay mortal -- catalog and brief from the archives, then walk out armed with what the stacks taught you. Archivist Lore on the swing -- not Hunter Arts, not Hellcraft.

How you play
  1. path men_of_letters
  2. walk bunker from Lebanon atlas (35,11) or Main Street spur
  3. files Order ledger (not hunter field notes)
  4. catalog <topic> Archivist Lore cards in bunker / chapter stacks
  5. index restricted-stack glance (cooldown)
  6. brief <ally> filed prep buff for someone in the room
  7. chapter report mint Aquarian Seals from endowment (help chapter)
  8. research <topic> shared library index (bunker, chapter, sigil, …)
  9. stake / exorcise / salt Human fighter kit (help stake | help gear)
 10. learn magic optional Warding alongside Archivist Lore
 11. train study|hold FOC/RES at library or ritual floor
 12. work as mol_archivist Lawrence chapter paid desk (archivist peek|copy)

Top stats lean FOC / RES / PRE.

Mick keeps the Library Stacks and file-board copies in the War Room and Lansing. Ketch keeps the Armory and a Lansing workplace. Bobby still posts hunts in Sioux Falls.

You are an institution scholar who still fights when the file demands it -- Kendricks-trained, bunker-read, not a Winchester with a journal. Archivist Lore is your discipline: catalog, index, brief, files, and institution combat reads on the swing. You share the Human fighter kit (stake, exorcise, salt restock) with detective, occultist, and the rest -- you do **not** receive Hunter Arts or hunt-tip duty. Your book is an Order ledger (help files), not hunter field notes.

Research in Men of Letters zones comes easier to you than to anyone standing at a public shelf. Filed types and clearance ranks make catalog work and briefs a little sharper. Optional learn magic + Warding for saltline / site ward -- the Ritual Chamber and Library Stacks are your dojo.

Talk Mick in the stacks or War Room; Toni at the Lansing strategy desk; Ketch in the bunker or Lansing armory. Awakened Origins may wear men_of_letters as mortal cover (path background men_of_letters).
